Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. Meet and greet by our Tour representative. Transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in process. Relax and freshen up. Later, start with your city tour and walk the Cascade Complex. It is a giant stairway made of limestone, which housed one of the most interesting & vast contemporary art collections. Head to the building of the Opera house and North Avenue. Later, continue to the Republic Square in the heart of Yerevan. Then head to the Blue Mosque, dating back to the 18th century. Then visit Matenadaran, one of the world’s largest and oldest repositories of Armenian, Greek, and Persian manuscripts. Marvel at the illuminated pages of some of those manuscripts within their glass cases. Later, after completing your day, return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast at the hotel, start the trip to the Aragatsotn region. We will drive towards the Amberd complex, comprised of a medieval fortress and a church located in a quiet area on the southern slopes of Mount Aragats. Amberd is located at 2300 meters above sea level; hence the name, which means ‘fortress in the clouds. Next stop is Alphabet Alley. In the evening, return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, embark on your tour. First, stop near the Arch of Charentes, from where the beautiful panoramic view opens. Later, head to Garni Fortress, which dates to the 3rd century BC, and to its jewel pagan Temple of Garni, which dates to the 1st century AD. Later, visit Symphony of Stones – the naturally created sightseeing in Garni village. It is said that this natural monument is the result of the collapse of volcanic rocks. Later, drive to Lake Sevan, also referred to as the Pearl of Armenia. Set 1900 m above sea level and covering 1240 sq km, the vast expanse of Sevana Lich (Lake Sevan) is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in the world. After completing your visits, return to your hotel in Yerevan for an overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, embark on your tour to Khor Virap. The monastery Khor Virap stands before the snowcapped flanks of Mount Ararat, offering a spectacular view of the mountain, the national symbol of Armenia. It is where Grigor Luisavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator) was imprisoned for 13 years before curing King Trdat III of a disease, which led to the baptism of Armenia into Christianity in 301 AD. It is from here that the most gorgeous and picturesque views of the snow-white Ararat, green fields, and mountains on the horizon open. Then head to Areni Winery to taste wines of different kinds. It is among the oldest and most well-established wine facilities in the area. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
